The Polymath Society operates Immensum.
The pages use landmarks: a header, a navigation block labeled "Page", labeled sections, and a footer. Latin passages are marked as Latin so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
The scale figure at the top of the home page is decorative. It is hidden from assistive technology, it responds only to pointer movement and touch, and its meaning is carried by the plain-text sections below it.
Links are native links. No script intercepts the keyboard, and the browser's default focus outline is left in place.
Text is set in self-hosted serif and mono faces. Sizes are in rem and scale with your browser's text-size setting.
Known limits:
- Secondary text uses the main ink color at 50% and 62% opacity, which is lower contrast than the main text.
- The site scrolls smoothly and has no reduced-motion rule, so smooth scrolling is not switched off for readers who ask for reduced motion in their system settings. No animation plays on its own.
